PM Modi’s Railway Roadmap: From Bullet Train to Vande Bharat, this is the roadmap for thousands of new trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently attended a program. During this, PM Narendra Modi talked about the roadmap for India’s infrastructure development, especially Indian Railways development. As per the development roadmap of Indian Railways, the Bullet Train project of National High Speed Rail Corridor Limited has been allocated the largest share of finance share from the Finance Ministry. The fund for this project has been increased from Rs 19,592 crore to Rs 25,000 crore. After the completion of this project, passengers can travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in less than 3 hours.

Apart from the Bullet Train, Indian Railways will bring 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by the year 2047. At present, a total of 82 Vande Bharat trains are running on the tracks in the country. With this, the government has announced to run about 50 new Amrit Bharat trains by the 2024-25 financial year. Indian Railways is said to be manufacturing 1000 new trains of this type and developing models with a speed of 250 kmph.

At the same time, the development work of about 1,309 stations is also going on under the Amrit Bharat Scheme of the Central Government. Under this scheme, Indian Railways is working towards improving the facilities, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi and provisions for disabled passengers at railway stations. At the same time, Railways is also continuously working towards stopping the waiting list completely. Indian Railways is planning to increase the frequency of daily train journeys to 3000 by the year 2030 to completely eliminate the waiting list. To meet this demand, a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore has been allocated to replace the old rolling stock with 7,000-8,000 new train sets.

Not only this, with the aim of relieving congestion on major railway corridors, Indian Railways has proposed a Rs 4.2 lakh crore, 10-year plan to target multi-tracking on seven high-density lines. This includes construction of flyovers and underpasses as well as plans to double and even triple the track depending on traffic demand. With an aim to further improve the passenger experience, around 40,000 train bogies will be modified by the Railways to provide them with the same quality as Vande Bharat trains.
