Mamata Banerjee Willing to Resign to Resolve West Bengal Doctors Strike

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that she is ready to resign for the sake of the people. The Chief Minister said, I am ready to resign for the sake of the people. I also want justice in the murder case of the doctor of RG Kar Hospital. She said, “I apologize to the people of Bengal, who hoped that the deadlock in the RG Kar case would end today.” Earlier, the striking doctors refused to meet with the Chief Minister, demanding live streaming of the meeting.

Two days ago, the striking doctors refused to talk to the Chief Secretary and demanded to talk to the Chief Minister. That day too, the Chief Minister kept waiting for about two and a half hours with the Chief Secretary in the State Secretariat, but the doctors did not even respond to the Chief Secretary’s mail.

The Chief Minister said that we waited for two hours today also to meet the junior doctors, but they did not come to the meeting place. Along with this, she told that she tried three times to talk to the junior doctors to end the deadlock in the RG Kar case. The CM said, “We had a video recording of the meeting with the junior doctors, we could have shared it with them with the permission of the Supreme Court but since the RG tax case is pending in the court, the meeting with them cannot be broadcast live as demanded by the junior doctors.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made it clear that she will not take any action against the agitating junior doctors. The Chief Minister said, “I will forgive them because we are big.” The Chief Minister also said that 27 people have died and seven lakh patients have been troubled across the state due to the ‘work stoppage’ by the junior doctors.
