Indian MPs Launch Major Diplomatic Tour to 33 Countries to Expose Pakistan’s Terror Support and Strengthen Global Anti-Terror Alliance

New Delhi
 — : A significant Indian parliamentary delegation is set to travel across 33 countries between May 23 and June 3, 2025, aiming to raise global awareness about the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the ensuing Operation Sindoor. This mission will involve engagements with MPs, government officials, media representatives, think tanks, and civil society, focusing on exposing Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism and countering misinformation abroad.

Composition of the Indian Delegation

The delegation comprises seasoned MPs from multiple political parties, accompanied by experienced diplomats from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This diverse team ensures both political gravitas and diplomatic finesse while presenting India’s case on the global stage.

Strategic Selection of Countries: Focus on UNSC Members and Key Global Players

The trip is carefully designed to avoid countries that have supported Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. Notably, the Indian team will not visit China, Turkey, or Azerbaijan, reflecting the diplomatic stance toward nations perceived as uncooperative.

Among the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) permanent members, India’s delegation will visit four — the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Russia, excluding China due to strained relations.

Among the ten non-permanent UNSC members, the delegation plans to engage with eight nations: Algeria, Denmark, South Korea, Sierra Leone, Guyana, Panama, Slovenia, and Greece — deliberately omitting Pakistan and Somalia.

Engagement with Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) Member States

Despite diplomatic challenges, India maintains strong ties with many OIC countries. The delegation will visit nations including Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, UAE, Qatar, and Egypt. Following the Pahalgam attack, Saudi Arabia condemned the violence and offered support, signaling evolving regional cooperation on counterterrorism.

The MEA underscores that informing OIC countries about Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism is critical to shaping international perspectives, especially after the OIC issued statements against Operation Sindoor.

Previous Diplomatic Efforts & Current Mission’s Importance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously engaged in calls with leaders of UNSC permanent members (except China), while Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar held discussions with foreign ministers of nine non-permanent UNSC members, excluding Pakistan. These high-level talks stressed the need to counter support for terrorism on the Indian border.

The upcoming diplomatic outreach will reinforce these efforts, aiming for unified global condemnation of cross-border terrorism and a stronger international response against Pakistan’s activities.

Countries Excluded from the Visit

The MEA has explicitly excluded countries such as China and Turkey from the itinerary, citing their disregard for India’s concerns. This diplomatic decision underlines the prioritization of countries where India can achieve constructive engagement.

The Road Ahead for India’s Diplomatic Outreach

This extensive diplomatic tour is a strategic move by India to shape global opinion by fostering direct dialogue and delivering facts about the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. By engaging key stakeholders worldwide, India seeks to strengthen international cooperation against terrorism and isolate Pakistan diplomatically.

India’s delegation is poised to send a clear message: the fight against terrorism transcends borders, and global unity is paramount for lasting peace and security.
