Indian Army and Air Force sign a transformative MoU with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to enhance logistics expertise, supporting India’s defense self-reliance and national development goals.

Vadodara : On September 9, 2024, the Indian Army and Indian Air Force signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara. This MoU aims to enhance the logistics capabilities and expertise of their personnel. The signing was attended by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Minister of Railways  Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The MoU is designed to build a world-class logistics system that supports India’s defense self-reliance goals. It will focus on logistics education, research, and innovation to strengthen military operations and national security. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that efficient logistics are critical for mobilizing forces and delivering resources effectively. He stressed that the collaboration aligns with the vision of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) in defense, emphasizing the importance of domestic expertise and manufacturing.

Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed confidence in the university’s role in advancing logistics education and innovation. The event also saw the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways.
