Chandigarh : The long-running effort to form an alliance for the Haryana Assembly elections is now in its final stage. The alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party is almost certain. It is just a matter of time before the formal announcement is made. A meeting was held between Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha till late Saturday night regarding the alliance.

Both the parties can announce the alliance by holding a joint press conference on Monday, September 9. If sources are to be believed, the Congress and the AAP have reached an agreement on the offer of 4+1 formula i.e. 5 seats. Sources say that in the Lok Sabha elections, AAP-Congress joint candidate Dr. Sushil Gupta contested from the Kurukshetra seat, unfortunately he lost. 11 assembly seats come under this Lok Sabha seat.

Since Gupta had won 4 assembly seats (Guhla Cheeka, Pehowa, Shahabad and Kalayat) that fall under the Lok Sabha seat, Congress can hand over these four seats to the AAP. In this situation, there is a possibility of announcement of alliance between Congress and AAP on Monday.
