New Delhi –  After a slight change in the weather, Delhi’s air has reached the worst level of this season. On Sunday, the air quality index of 13 areas of Delhi crossed 400 i.e. reached the severe category. There is no possibility of any significant improvement in Delhi’s air quality even in the next two-three days. A slight change in the weather has been seen in Delhi in the last two days. Due to the cyclonic storm formed over Pakistan and western Rajasthan, there has been a slight drop in temperature.

Due to this, light fog is being seen in the morning. Also, the wind speed is also slow. This has led to a rapid increase in the level of pollution. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average air quality index of Delhi on Sunday was at 382. Air of this level is placed in the very poor category. A day before, on Saturday, this index was at 316 points. That is, the index has increased by 66 points in 24 hours.

This was the worst AQI in nine months. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board shows that the last time an AQI higher than this was recorded was 392 on January 31. The highest AQI in October was 364 in the ‘very poor’ category on October 23. The air quality is likely to remain in the ‘very poor’ category till Wednesday. The air is most toxic in Anand Vihar. The matter of concern for Delhi is that the air quality index of 13 areas of the capital is above 400, that is, in the severe category. These places include many crowded and densely populated places like Rohini, Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Mundka. At 4 pm on Sunday, Anand Vihar’s index was the highest at 444.

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System, the conditions are not favorable for the dispersion of pollutant particles in Delhi. Due to this, the pollutant particles will remain in the atmosphere for a long time. Hence, there is no hope of relief for two-three days. Three times more pollution than the standard According to the standard, the level of pollutant particles PM 10 in the air is less than 100 and the level of PM 2.5 is less than 60 which is healthy.
