New Delhi : By searching on Google, a person was defrauded of Rs 50 thousand in the name of online Aadhaar update. This should be a lesson to those people who are thinking of updating their Aadhar card online. Because a little carelessness in this can empty the entire account. Such cyber crime cases are coming continuously. According to the information received, recently a case of cyber fraud has come up in Noida near Delhi.
No arrest has been made in the case yet but police are appealing to people to be cautious while applying online. Inspector Sarvesh Kumar Singh, in-charge of Noida police station Sector-113, said that Munmun Bhattacharya, resident of Mahagun Modern Society Sector-78, had lodged a report in the police station that he had to get his Aadhar card updated. Searched the number online and spoke to a person. He talked to them by pretending to be an Aadhaar card agent.
After this, the accused got an app downloaded in the name of Aadhaar updation. As soon as he downloaded the app, Rs 50000 was withdrawn from his account. The accused tried to do two more transactions but it did not happen. The police is investigating the matter Anuj Tyagi, in-charge of Unique Identification Authority of India, UIDAI Greater Noida West, said that all online related to Aadhaar is done on the official site of the department only. Do not click on any other site. If you want to update Aadhaar and want to avoid standing in line, then you can take an appointment by visiting the legitimate site.
Here there will be four options on the website. In which there will be Aadhar Update, New Aadhar, Appointment and Aadhar Special Service. On clicking appointment, you will have to enter your mobile number and fill the captcha. After this OTP will come on your mobile. After entering this, you can select UIDAI for appointment according to the central state, district and area. In this way, by taking an appointment and going to the Aadhaar center, the work will be done in minimum time.
