Ace filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia is currently reading Pyramid of Virgin Dreams, written by Vipul Mittra and published by Rupa Publications and if all goes well, a movie would shortly be made on the book. Mittra is a well known IAS officer and is currently Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Gujarat. He was recently in news for appointing Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador of the state and for successfully carrying out the state tourism campaign.
Mittra’s first work of fiction is a witty, satiric description of the life of Kartikeya Kukreja, the protagonist of the book and a bureaucrat who sees life around him in a quirky, sardonic manner. It is the story of a middle-class boy, his growing years, and his perceptions of bureaucracy and society. The story oscillates between Kartikeya’s dreams and reality. It describes his fantasies, unfulfilled virgin dreams and the happenings within and outside the pyramid of Indian bureaucracy
Tigmanshu Dhulia met with Vipul Mittra recently while shooting Sahib biwi aur gangster in the interiors of Gujarat.
