Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akshaya Tritiya or Akha Teej, is a significant festival in the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the 14th day of Shukla Paksha in the Indian month of Vaishakh. The term “Akshaya” means eternal, never-ending feeling of happiness, success, and bliss, while “Tritiya” means third in Sanskrit.

Hindus believe that Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most auspicious days of the year. Many devotees wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and offer incense sticks, sandalwood paste, basil leaves, and flowers to Lord Vishnu. It is also a popular belief that buying gold on this day will bring prosperity and wealth in the future.

According to Hindu mythology, Treta Yuga started on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. This day can also coincide with Parashurama Jayanti, the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, although in some cases, Parshuram Jayanti may fall a day before Akshaya Tritiya.

This year, Akshaya Tritiya falls on Saturday, 22 April 2023. The auspicious time for Akshaya Tritiya Puja Muhurta is from 07:49 AM to 12:21 PM, with a duration of 4 hours and 32 minutes, as per the Panchang. The Tritiya Tithi starts on 22 April 2023 at 07.49 am and ends on May 23, 2023, at 07.47 am.
