 — : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a fierce attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over a ₹71 crore scam under the MNREGA scheme in Dahod, Gujarat. Senior AAP leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia alleged that the sons of Gujarat Panchayati Raj Minister Bachubhai Khabar fraudulently bagged contracts and siphoned off funds without completing any developmental work. Despite their arrest, the BJP has taken no action against the minister.

Speaking at a press conference at AAP’s headquarters on Saturday, Sisodia contrasted the BJP’s silence with the swift action taken by the AAP government in Punjab. “When an AAP MLA was found involved in corruption in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann acted immediately and had the MLA arrested under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal. That’s our commitment to clean governance,” he stated.

According to Sisodia, the Dahod scam involves the direct misuse of MNREGA funds by the family members of a sitting minister. “The minister’s sons—Baldev and Kiran—and his nephew formed companies, won contracts under the MNREGA scheme, and executed no work. Yet they grabbed ₹71 crore of public funds,” Sisodia claimed. He emphasized that the accused are currently in police custody, and called it shocking that the minister continues to remain in office.

“The BJP must answer why no action has been taken against its own minister. When his own sons are in custody for defrauding his department, how can he remain in power?” asked Sisodia, demanding immediate resignation and accountability.

Manish Sisodia also reiterated AAP’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption, noting that the party does not hesitate to act even against its own elected representatives. He said this clear contrast in governance shows which party is truly committed to honesty and public service.
