Delhi,
Delhi is getting itself ready to witness an altogether different breeze in the political scene. Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal, who is all set to be the next and youngest chief minister of Delhi, has refused to move into the government bungalow he is entitled to as the head of the government.
Before taking CM’s Office Mr Kejriwal has already started to mark his presence by setting a different example by refusing police security and a large house. He says he wants to live in a small flat instead in the capital. He has repeatedly asserted that his to-do list includes wiping out the “VIP culture” that politicians are attuned to.
As Mr Kejriwal met Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor yesterday to stake claim to form government, a workshop was held to give the party’s MLAs a lesson in “swaraj” or good governance.
Today, His party finalised six cabinet ministers. The new ministers in the Delhi cabinet will be Manish Sisodia, Rakhi Birla, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Satendra Jain, Somnath Bharti and Girish Soni.
However, AAP plans to divide Delhi’s 272 wards into mohallas or “neighbourhoods.” Each mohalla will have a committee which will play a crucial role in decision-making.
