Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said at a program in Alwar, Rajasthan that being a Hindu means being generous and showing goodwill towards everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs, caste, dietary practices. He described the Hindu society as the karta-dharta of the country. Bhagwat said that if anything goes wrong in this country, it affects the Hindu society only because the Hindu society is the karta-dharta of the country, but if something good happens, it increases the pride of Hindus.
Bhagwat said that what is called Hinduism is in essence a universal human religion. He said that Hindus want the well-being of everyone. Being a Hindu means being the most generous person in the world, who embraces everyone, shows goodwill towards everyone and he has got these sanskars from his ancestors. He uses education not to humiliate anyone but to impart knowledge, uses wealth not for pleasure but for charity and uses power to protect the weak.
He said that one who lives with these values and culture is a Hindu. No matter whom he worships, what language he speaks, what is his caste, region or food habits. Bhagwat said that at one time many people did not know about the Sangh, but now it enjoys wide recognition and respect. There are many people who oppose the Sangh, but have a sense of respect for it in their mind. Despite their objections, they also accept the importance of the Sangh.
Bhagwat said that to ensure the development of the nation, it is important to protect Hindu religion, culture and society. He called upon the volunteers of the Sangh to adopt and promote five major principles. Social harmony, environment, family values, self-awareness and civic discipline. Mohan Bhagwat also expressed concern over the decline in family values, for which he blamed the misuse of social media. He believed that this was causing the younger generation to rapidly break away from traditional values. He suggested that families gather once a week for religious activities and meals. This will strengthen mutual relations and protect cultural values.
