Moscow :  The use of animals in war is a very old thing. But the use of marine animals may seem strange. But few people know that dolphins can also be used by humans in many ways, including military activities. But dolphins have been in news for a few days due to reports that the Russian military is using them extensively in the Black Sea. According to the report, in recent times the number of dolphins near the Russian naval base Sevastopol in  Black Sea  has increased rapidly and doubled. But how is the Russian military using them.

But first let us know why this is happening. Actually, the Crimean island of  Black Sea  has been on the target of Ukraine since the Russia-Ukraine war. Russia had snatched Crimea from Ukraine in the year 2014 itself. Since then it has become a sensitive island for Russia in terms of security.

Due to the sensitivity of Crimea, the naval base in the Black Sea has become very important for the security of Crimea and it is here that the number of dolphins is increasing. It has been reported that while they are not designed to fight a diver, they could very well be used to quickly identify undesirable divers.

Dolphins can find out where divers are and inform their parents about their location and in this case they are more efficient and effective and no one can identify them in such a way that they end up in the sea. What are you doing? Because being marine animals it is very normal and harmless for them to be there.

Even diving experts can’t beat dolphins. They swim so fast that they can pass by recognized divers without knowing their presence. Their swimming speed can reach up to 29 kilometers per hour, while the best human swimmers can reach speeds of up to 10 kilometers per hour.

According to reports, about seven dolphins can provide services near a naval base. They can also be deployed around the base, especially by boats. But it is not that the security is solely dependent on the dolphins. In Sevastopol, after the network of anti-torpedo nets, depth charge systems and rocket launchers, the role of dolphins starts again.

It is believed that the Russian Navy is not using the sea animal for the first time. Spy whales have been observed over the years carrying Russian equipment from place to place. They may have also been used for surveillance purposes. Similarly, America has also done the work of installing cameras on dolphins. But the problem is that neither a country discloses how it uses sea animals nor does it disclose how its enemy country does that work.
