Note Disappeared: 500 notes have suddenly disappeared from the market. 500 rupee notes worth about 88 thousand crores have gone missing. There is no account of these missing money. RBI had printed 8810.65 million notes of Rs 500. But, banks got only 7260 million notes. That is, 176 crore notes of 500 rupees disappeared in the middle of the way. These reports are based on misinterpretation of information collected from Printing Presses under the Right to Information Act, 2005. It may be noted that all bank notes supplied to RBI from the printing presses are properly accounted for, the RBI said in its statement. RBI has advised not to trust any such misleading news. In such cases, rely on the information published by RBI from time to time, the statement said.

Let us tell you that the printing of notes is done in only four places in the country. RBI does the work of printing notes in Dewas, Nashik, Mysore and Salboni only. In such a situation, between April 2015 and March 2016, 210 million 500 rupee notes were printed by the Currency Note Press Nashik, now notes worth about 88 thousand crore rupees are missing. According to the report, this has been revealed in an RTI report. Activist Manoranjan Roy raised questions on these notes through RTI.
