Ban on these vehicles running on Petrol-Diesel in Delhi – 20 thousand challan for violation

BS3 Petrol and BS4 Diesel cars have been temporarily banned once again in Delhi from Tuesday. This step has been taken after the pollution level increased in the national capital during the last few days. This ban will remain in effect till at least Thursday i.e. January 12. If the pollution level does not come down in the next three days, then it can also be increased. A similar ban was also implemented last month for a few days. Even then, the level of pollution in the Delhi-NCR region had increased considerably.

Order of Transport Department of Delhi Government

The order issued by the Transport Department of the Government of Delhi states that BS3 Petrol and BS4 Diesel LMVs (4 wheelers) will be banned in NCT of Delhi with immediate effect till 12th January 2023 or till the downward revision in GRAP stage (whichever is earlier). . With this, relief has been given to vehicles engaged in emergency services, police vehicles and government vehicles used for enforcement.

20 thousand challan for violating the ban
Anyone found violating the applicable restrictions will be prosecuted under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. It has been said in the order of the Delhi government that till Thursday, any BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel car found running will be prosecuted under section 194 (1) of the Motor Vehicles Act and a fine of Rs 20,000 will also be imposed.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the pollution level on the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi rose to 434 on Monday, more than 60 points recorded on Sunday. The order from Delhi’s transport department further states that the sub-committee has recommended “all the actions envisaged under GRAP – Phase-III of ‘severe’ air quality (Delhi AQI between 401-450) in the entire NCR by all concerned agencies.” I have implemented it in the right way, with immediate effect.
