The Crime Branch team of Delhi Police has busted a big racket of fake medicines. Seven people involved in this racket have been arrested, out of which two accused are employees of a big cancer hospital in Delhi. Police have recovered a total of nine brands of fake cancer medicines from the accused. In this, seven medicines are of foreign brands while two are of Indian brands.
Police said that the accused used to collect empty vials of injections used for chemotherapy of patients in cancer hospital, then filled anti-fungal medicines in those vials and sold them. The target of the accused were the patients coming from outside Delhi, especially the patients coming from Haryana, Bihar, Nepal or African countries. The seven accused who have been arrested. Their names are Viphal Jain, Suraj Shat, Neeraj Chauhan, Parvez, Komal Tiwari, Abhinay Kohli and Tushar Chauhan. In this, Neeraj is a resident of Gurugram, while the remaining six are residents of different areas of Delhi. A senior police officer said that his team has received information that a gang is active in Delhi, which is supplying fake cancer medicines to patients. After this a special team was formed to arrest the accused.
During the investigation, the team got information about four different places from where the network was being run. The police planned simultaneous raids at all four places so that the accused did not get a chance to recover. The team raided DLF Capital Greens, which was the most important hideout of this racket. According to the police, Viphal Jain used to make fake cancer medicines here. Fail was also the leader of this entire gang. Viphal had taken two EWS flats in DLF Greens on rent. Here he would fill empty cancer medicine bottles with fake medicines while his partner Suraj used to pack these refilled bottles properly so that no one would have any suspicion. Police recovered 140 such vials from here. Police have recovered 50 thousand cash, 1000 US dollars, three vial cap sealing machines, a heat gun machine and 197 empty vials from the place. Along with this, the police have recovered other fake items related to packaging, the value of the fake vials that have been recovered is Rs 1 crore 75 lakh.
According to Delhi Police, 137 filled vials have been recovered from the accused. These are of different international brands, whose price is Rs 2 crore 15 lakh. Their names are Keytruda, Infinzi, Tecentric, Perjeta, Opdata, Darzalex and Erbitux.
